Remember the Wroughton Carnival of 2019, what a perfect day we had and great fun was had by all. It was so sad that 2020 had to be cancelled, as was so much else unfortunately, but the Carnival committee are being positive and starting to plan for 2021.
The Wroughton Carnival will hopefully be returning again on the 3rd July 2021 featuring the parade through the village and the Weir Field with stalls and a stage showcasing local choirs, bands and dance groups. If the virus is under control, the day will be packed with entertainment, local stall holders and funfair rides followed by evening entertainment in the village pubs, repeating the success of past carnivals.
Talking about past carnivals, we would love to see your photos, memories of past Wroughton Carnivals, no matter how old or how young, the photos that is. We would love to feature them on our website and facebook page.
Pre-Carnival Events – As in the past we are hoping that some of the local pubs will stage pre-Carnival events in the run up to the big day. If anybody would like to host a pre-Carnival event, in order to support the carnival, please contact the committee via the details below.

Wroughton Carnival; it appears that it grew out of what was called Hospital Sunday, when the local Methodist band would parade around the local villages collecting for the Victoria Hospital in Old Town. This seemed to grow into what was called Wroughton Carnival in the 1920s
